The Chrysler Crossfire is a two-seat sports car that brings exciting styling to the class. The Chrysler Crossfire shares over half of its features with the previous-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class, and comes with rear-wheel drive The Chrysler Crossfire is available in coupe and convertible body styles, and in only one trim level known as the Limited. They are powered by a 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 215 horsepower and 229pound-feet of torque.
The Chrysler Crossfire is significantly more expensive than the Ford Mustang when it comes to purchase cost. The Chrysler Crossfire is not a car someone will buy because they need a car. Unlike those other cars, however, Crossfire is patterned after parts of classic French Bugattis and Talbot Lagos from the elegant pre-war period of auto design.
The custom independent short-and-long-arm front and rear suspension uses coil springs placed over the shock absorbers. The Chrysler Crossfire ignition coil is similar to an electrical step up transformer that contains heavily-insulated copper with primary and secondary twisting circuits. The secondary circuits have more coils and are oiled to keep them cool.
The Chrysler Crossfire is equipped with a standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP),
which is designed to help drivers maintain control during extreme steering maneuvers and low traction conditions. The Crossfire?s ESP senses when the car is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer) and attempts to correct the vehicle?s course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels.
Interior sophistication comes standard on the Chrysler Crossfire where the center spine design is carried from the outside in to create the twin cockpit design. From the interior, the center spine appears to continue from the center console through the instrument panel, windshield and on to the hood. Interior lines were set to focus attention down the road, and the distinctive center line even cuts through the center console.
After driving the Crossfire, we can say that we wish it had more low-end torque, slightly better steering feel and less plastic and better ergonomics in the cabin, but we can’t deny how much fun the car is on twisty roads, or how upscale it feels when cruising along coastal highways. Interior noise is not bad; the exhaust has an interesting note, and while the engine is a bit gruff and noisy it usually isn’t too loud.
